2013

Event date

August 24, 2013 was selected as the date for the celebration of the Tercentenary of the Phaneuf family for several reasons:

-Since October 2nd fell on a Wednesday, in the middle of the week, the organizing committee felt that people would be available on a week-end, ideally getting a larger turnout for the reunion.

-The weather in the summer is warmer than in the autumn, affording the opportunity to celebrate outdoors;

-In general, people, including children and students, are more available during the summer;

-A century ago, at the Bicentennial celebration of the Phaneuf family, which was held on October 2nd, the event was marred by bad weather, even though a big tent was set-up;

For these reasons, the Organizing Committee opted for Saturday, August 24th, as the best day for the Tricentennial celebration of the Phaneuf family.
